Once again, you have to think in the functional way: bedroom accessories need to be bedroom appropriate, which means no exaggerating, and no extensive vibrancy. In the case of seating, the best choices you can make are colorful blankets and soft cushions. Obviously, your chairs will look amazing if you position them opposite each other, but functionality should not be sacrificed. If you really need a spacious sitting area to accommodate guests appropriately, putting it in a corner closer to the door (or around the fireplace, if you have one) is a much better idea.
A teenager needs more than a sleeping place. For him/her, the room will be their studying place or simply a favorite lounge for their best friends (have in mind that relevant surveys concluded that a teenager’s favorite room decoration is a poster of his/her friends). Therefore, the room needs to have a rich and elaborated social aspect, letting the kid show his real personality in front of other people.
To start with, teenagers are not sure how they want their personality to be, so we just can’t expect them to know the same for their rooms. Trying to impose an interior solution often results in hater-like behavior, and as a parent, the last thing you want is to wake up the beast inside them.
You want to get this right because it is your own private sanctuary to get away from the world and have some me time. Obviously, the bed is the main thing in the room and the thing that helps you get the bedroom right and it is more important than other variables in the room such as the color of the walls.
